God, this is probably the most boring ‘how-we-met’ stories in the Times ever:

“…The couple met through a mutual friend in 2004 at a New York bar. “I thought he was cute and really nice and funny,” Ms. Thai said. Yet she declined his offer to walk her to the subway.

But she did agree to join him and their friend the following week, and the week after that. When he again offered to accompany her on their third get-together, she didn’t hesitate to accept.

“That walk felt really good because all the way there, I kept thinking ‘This is a real good sign,’ ” Mr. Wiita said.”
